A reliable food loop

  1. Choose one repeatable early meal whose ingredients your current colony can obtain consistently.
  2. Assign the necessary gathering, farming, transport, and cooking work without starving another critical chain.
  3. Use Stock Mode after the Warehouse unlock so production maintains a reserve rather than running forever.
  4. Set a conservative threshold, observe one full consumption cycle, then raise it only if inputs and labor recover.
  5. Inspect seed and greenhouse inputs manually. Launch-week player reports say some restocking behavior is not a closed automatic loop.
  6. Add variety or morale-oriented food only after the basic hunger reserve survives expeditions and staffing changes.

Evidence status

Official: food/manufacturing exists, Stock maintains a threshold, and AG-14 fixed a hauling disappearance issue. Player-reported: worker assignment, greenhouse restocking, and configured-versus-supplied recipes cause confusion. Editorial inference: the one-cycle diagnostic above. Current-build tested: UNKNOWN.
